Hospice is a special kind of care designed to provide comprehensive holistic end of life care. Patients and families facing a terminal illness receive service which focus on comfort measures and emotional support. Hospice provides physical care and expertise in pain and symptom control. In addition, it also addresses the emotional, social, psychological and spiritual needs of the patient and family. All services are provided under the direction of the attending physician or the hospice Medical Director.

Hospice gives support and care for persons in the final phases of incurable disease and makes it possible for the patient and loved ones to spend the final days in their own home where familiar sights and sounds of life surround them. After death, we provide ongoing hope and support for family and friends.

Due to the nature of Hospice services, our care includes bereavement counselor and chaplains - as well as other health care professionals.

Patients and their families are supported by an interdisiplinary team with the following:

Hospice is really in the business of living. Hospice affirms life and believes that growth and change come naturally to us. Special care is given to make sure the last months of life are lived in dignity, with a sense of importance.

"That's what we're all looking for. A certain peace with the idea of dying. If we know, in the end,
that we can ultimately have that peace with dying, then we can finally do the
really hard thing...Make peace with the living."
