Visiting Nurse Association and Blue Water Hospice is proud to host its 27th annual 5K-10K River Run and 3-Mile Walk. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, June 2nd. This year our race will start and finish at the new Blue Water Hospice Home in Marysville, Michigan. Participants can look forward to a mash tent, raffle prizes, awards, snacks, beverages, chip timing, good competition and lots of fun!

REGISTRATION & PAYMENT OPTIONS

PRE-REGISTRATION: The pre-registration entry fee is $25.00 for participants who register on or before May 31, 2012. Pre- registered participants will receive a t-shirt and pre-registration gift. The entry fee for participants who register after May 31, 2012 is $30.00. Participants who register after May 31st are not guaranteed a t-shirt or pre-registration gift.

RACE DAY REGISTRATION: Race day registration is $30.00 and will be available between 6:30-7:30AM. Race day registration will end promptly at 7:30AM.

PAYMENT OPTIONS: The proceeds received from this year’s event will benefit the Blue Water Hospice Home. Registration and entry fee for the VNA & BWH 5K-10K River Run and 3-Mile Walk are accepted online, by mail, phone, collecting pledges or by joining or forming a team!

PAY ONLINE: Online registration will be available through May 28, 2012.

PAY BY PHONE: Registration and entry fees are accepted over the phone. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover. If you wish to make a payment by phone please contact the Event Chair by phone at 810.388.6043.

PLEDGES: All participants have the option to have their registration fee waived by collecting $50.00 or more in pledges. Pledges can be submitted prior to race day at the VNA & BWH Office located at 1430 Military Street, Suite A, Port Huron, MI 48060 or on race day between 6:30AM-7:30AM. If you choose to collect pledges, please download the printable Pledge Sheet at www.vnabwh.com to track and record pledges. To receive a pledge sheet by mail, contact the Event Chair to receive a pledge at 810.388.6043 or riverrun@vnabwh.com.

RIVER RUN TEAM CHALLENGE: The 5K-10K River Run will offer area community members and local businesses the opportunity to form a team to fundraise for the 2012 River Run. All team members’ registration fees will be waived. Proceeds will support the Blue Water Hospice Home. 2012 RIVER RUN RACE DETAILS

START TIME: The 10K Race will start PROMPTLY AT 8:00AM, the 5K Race will start PROMPTLY AT 8:10AM, and the 3-Mile Walk will start PROMPTLY AT 8:15AM.

INFORMATION PACKAGE: Pre-registered participants can pick up their information package on Thursday, May 31, 2012 or Friday June 1, 2012 between 10:00AM–8:00PM at Elite Feet Running Store, located at 908 Military Street, Port Huron, MI 48060, Phone 810.824.3272. Pre-registered participants may also pick up their information package on race day between 6:30AM-7:30AM. Information packages must be picked up in order to participate in the event.

RACE RULES:

• No one under 9 years of age will be allowed to participate in the 10K run.
• No pets are allowed on the race course.
• Jogging strollers are allowed in the race course, but must start behind all other participants.
• We will be unable to delay the start of the race for late entries.

AWARDS: Awards are given by age groups for the first, second and third place male and female finishers of the 5K and 10K races in the following groups:

• 5K RUN: 8 & Under, 9-13, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+
• 10K RUN: 9-13, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.
• OVERALL WINNERS: Awards will be given to the male and female first place finishers (best overall time) in the 5K and 10K run.
• 3-MILE WALK: The first three walkers, male or female to cross the finish line.

RACE RESULTS: All runners will receive their individual race results via mail following the run. Race results will also be posted online at www.vnabwh.com and www.elitefeetsports.com.

The START and FINISH of the race are located on Edison Drive, at the Blue Water Hospice Home, next to the green Observatory. The road is part of the course; do not park here or your car will be trapped here during the entire event.

DIRECTIONS: Take 1-94 to Marysville/Gratiot Road Exit and turn East. Turn right on Range Road to Cuttle. Turn left on Cuttle to M-29/Busha Highway, Turn right on M-29/Busha Highway to Willis.
