Blue Water Hospice Home

The Blue Water Hospice Home is currently under construction and will be open fall of 2011.

Since 1982, Blue Water Hospice has been at the heart of the hospice care in our community. We have assisted more than 8,000 patients and their families. Perhaps Hospice staff and volunteers have assisted a friend, a neighbor, or family member of yours, in an effort to make their end-of-life care journey as meaningful, and as free from pain as possible. Now, our community is faced with a growing need to help families who require hospice care for their loved ones, but are unable to keep them at home. The Blue Water Hospice Home will become a home for terminally ill patients in need of expert comfort care as their illness progresses and their home is no longer an option.

Initially, our home will be able to care for 12 patients at a time. Our home will not be a hospital, a nursing home or an assisted living facility. Our home will be a comfortable and personalized setting where hospice nurses and support staff provide 24-hour care, and where family and friends can spend quality time with their loved one.

Our home will be located in Marysville, Michigan. It will be situated beside a 2.5 acre pond and surrounded by 11.5 acres of garden woodlands. Our home will be designed and staffed to emphasize privacy, dignity, and inclusion of family members for the provision of end-of life care.

For a mother, a father, a sibling, or a child, end-of-life care is a very special journey for the patient, family, and those who provide the professional care.
