Private Duty

The Visiting Nurse Association’s Special Care Services program will assist you and your family in making decisions that will enable you to maintain your independence, and safely stay in your own home.

Given a choice, most people prefer to live in the comfort of their own home. Research has shown that people heal faster at home, if supported by the appropriate health services. Initial patient assessments are provided by a registered nurse, at no cost to the patient. The comprehensive plan of care is overseen by a registered nurse, reviewed periodically, and revised as necessary.

Insurance coverage varies and sometimes does not cover chronic care. The VNA will research your insurance coverage to determine what the out-of-pocket cost will be. A financial assessment can identify if the patient qualifies for financial assistance, offered through other community agencies.
